The new facility is the latest phase of the Trust’s £65.2 million investment in improving urgent and emergency care across northern Lincolnshire, and will provide modern, well-equipped facilities that are purpose-built to meet the needs of local communities for years to come. Clinical teams were directly involved throughout the design development, tailoring the facilities to support the best patient care.

The two new units are adjacent to the new Emergency Department which opened in 2022 and are designed to further streamline emergency care. Patients can be referred straight to the SDEC by GPs, 111, ambulance or community teams so that less serious cases can get the treatment they need more quickly, potentially without the need for hospital admission.

The new units, which are now open, feature a range of modern and well-equipped amenities to meet community healthcare needs.
